SymMultiG is a comprehensive mobile wireless 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi solution that offers the ultimate flexibility for real-time financial transactions, back channel data delivery and media content connectivity to ATM terminals, kiosks, Point of Sale (POS) terminals and other wireless multimedia devices. This breakthrough solution is also designed to provide secure, direct transaction, media content, and other data file downloads to multimedia devices such as SymEnabled™ mobile phones, wireless audio MP3 players, video-file playback devices, mobile video game players and the like.

This comprehensive solution provides secure and fast data communications using the physical and logical channels that currently function within existing wireless mobile cellular networks such as GPRS, EDGE/WEDGE and UMTS as well as the upcoming UMTS LTE and LTE-Plus. SymMultiG does not require any special network or Base Transceiver Station (BTS) upgrades or modifications and takes advantage of available infrastructure for seamless delivery of content and transaction. It is a carrier grade solution that can be delivered as a managed service or alternatively can be deployed as a self-contained private solution for any fleet size. Simplicity in management is provided by Symstream's Souran Platform™ which includes powerful business and operational support features to assist operators in provisioning their communications network, monitoring performance and alarms to achieve maximum uptime.

The flexibility of SymMultiG is demonstrated by its ability to run either an entire bank branch’s communications or just a single, remotely located, off-premise ATM or kiosk, where a 2G GSM voice channel is the only service available, right through to more sophisticated solutions utilising the latest wireless network technologies. It automatically adopts and uses the best platform available for real-time, event-critical applications and overcomes the severe limits of other offerings in the market place.

A key aspect of SymMultiG is the patented* symbolic protocol which transforms low latency VOIP and legacy wireless voice channels into a secure delivery medium for real-time financial transactions regardless of the generation of wireless network. SymMultiG supports most of the standard IP routing and management protocols and provides VPN links between multiple applications running on the remote terminal and matching remote application hosts. Industry standard security protocols like IPSec (up to six simultaneous tunnels), SSL and SSH are supported using either 3DES or AES encryption that can be supported seamlessly over wireless data TCP/IP for bandwidth hungry data back haul and content delivery applications.

SymMultiG will be supported on a new Symstream Radio Module (SRM) to provide 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi network connectivity. For cost/performance optimization, the SRM is available in various models to suit the generation of wireless network, from GPRS/EDGE up to UMTS with High Speed Packet Access technologies (HSDPA and HSUPA) for delivery of high speed 1.8 to 14.4 Mbps data streams. The SRM supporting Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G networks with antenna diversity and receiver equalization will be released as soon as wireless modules supporting this infrastructure become available. The SRM provides various interface options including Ethernet and asynchronous serial and support for alternative wireless network paths for improved communications reliability.
